Mercedes to take the lead over Tesla.
Shortly after the introduction of the autonomous vehicle parking method, Mercedes announced that they were the first to receive an international certificate for the Level 3 autonomous steering system, and now want to obtain such approval for several US states.
Mercedes’ advanced Drive Pilot system allows the driver to leave the car in the autopilot system without having to constantly monitor traffic.
An additional thing is that in case of accident with the system turned on, absolutely all the responsibility will be taken by the manufacturer, namely Mercedes.
At Mercedes, they hope such a responsibility will be crucial to gaining trust.
Suffice it to recall the unfortunate event when Tesla’s driver was charged with murder because the car went through a red traffic light on the autopilot and caused an accident where two people lost their lives.
Work is currently underway to certify the system in several federal states and the first in line are California and Nevada, where the latter is literally a technological leader in implementing autonomous management systems in America and the world.
