Instagram removed apps like Boomerang and Hyperlapse.

Both Boomerang and Hyperlapse are no longer available to download from the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store.

The removal comes shortly after Instagram announced on February 28 that it would stop supporting the IGTV app.

“We have removed support for the standalone apps Boomerang and Hyperlapse to better focus our efforts on the main app” said Instagram spokeswoman Christine Pai.

“Boomerang is still active within the Stories. We will continue to work on new ways for people to be creative and have fun on Instagram.”

The Boomerang app was first launched in 2015 while Hyperlapse in 2014.

Instagram’s Layout app (used to make photo collages) is still available to download, though this is another feature that’s already built into the app. We imagine Instagram may eventually remove this app as well.
