Humanitarian corridors open in Ukraine.
A number of humanitarian corridors in Ukraine, including those in the besieged cities of Mariupol and Zaporizhia, have opened today, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk has announced.
She added that she hopes Russia will keep its promise of a ceasefire. Vereshchuk even stressed that Ukraine plans to evacuate residents from some towns and villages in the regions of Kiev and Sumy, as well as in some areas where fierce fighting is taking place.
“I think the day will go well, all the planned corridors will be opened and Russia will fulfill its obligations to guarantee a ceasefire,” she said in a video, addressing the Ukrainian nation.
Efforts to secure a safe passage for Mariupol residents have consistently failed this week, as the Russian military has not complied with the ceasefire.
