Facebook “enters the war” with TikTok.
The chief executive of a political consulting firm has responded to a report alleging that Meta paid his company to “undermine” the role of TikTok.
Internal e-mails, apparently seen by the Washington Post, suggested that the targeted “victory campaign” was intended to portray TikTok “as a danger to American children.”
Zac Moffatt wrote on Twitter that the Post report mischaracterized their work and that “key points are simply false.”
His reaction comes as Meta, the owner of Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms, reportedly was paying a well-known consulting firm to create public distrust around TikTok.
