EpicGames prohibits Russian players to win prizes.
Every day various organizers, video game companies, teams and eSports players are reacting to the Russian state’s attacks on Ukraine, recently the video game company EpicGames has also made a stop.
In a recent post on social media by Fortnite Competitive, it was announced that starting March 11, 2022, Russia will be added to the list of countries where players are not eligible to win cash prizes in Fortnite Competitive tournaments.
According to EpicGames, players residing in Russia must complete the pricing verification process for each previous tournament and claim rewards from the EpicGames payment provider before March 22, 2022.
If cash prizes remain undeclared after March 22, 2022, they will be “frozen” until the EpicGames payment service provider is able to resume paying for players residing in Russia.
