Biden: Do not even think of a move on NATO territory.
US President Joe Biden has warned Vladimir Putin not to move a single “palm” in the direction of NATO territory.
He also said that “swift and punitive actions” are the only things that will make Moscow change course.
“All democracies in the world have a responsibility to help Ukraine,” he said, adding that the war “has already been a strategic failure for Russia.”
Biden assessed that by miscalculating Ukraine’s response, Vladimir Putin “was not a very good history student.”
According to him, the invasion of Ukraine was not “the action of a great nation.”
“There is an ‘brain drain’ leaving Russia,” he said, “and the state media is all propaganda.”
Biden also stressed that he refused to believe that ordinary Russian people supported the war, saying it “was not worthy” of them.
The war is turning Russia into the 19th century, he added, and Europe must “end its dependence on Russian fossil fuels.”
Speaking in Warsaw, President Biden recalled the battle between communism and the West during the Cold War.
