Biden calls Putin a “butcher”.
US President Joe Biden has called his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin a “butcher” while on a trip to Poland where he has met with Ukrainian ministers and refugees.
According to foreign media, the American president met with Ukrainian civilians who had fled the besieged city of Mariupol in Ukraine to Poland.
When asked what he thinks of the Russian President Putin while meeting Ukrainian refugees, he replied: “He is a butcher.”
The US president was also at the presidential palace in Warsaw for talks with Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda, in which he reaffirmed Washington DC’s “unwavering commitment” to Poland and Ukraine.
The visit to Poland was during the last part of his four-day trip to Europe, in a bid to maintain unity among Ukraine’s allies.
Otherwise, US President Joe Biden had said days ago that he believes that Russian leader Vladimir Putin “is a war criminal” because of the attacks in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, near the Polish border, two powerful rocket attacks near Lviv were reported by the city council.
“Everyone should stay calm and stay inside,” local official Igor Zinkevych said in a Facebook post.
