The Ukrainian president has just made a televised appearance in Ukraine this Wednesday challenging all the positions held so far by the Western allies.
Zelensky has categorically denied that the missile that fell in Poland last night is Ukrainian, saying he is sure it is Russian.
“I have no doubt that it was not our missile or our missile attack. We must participate in the investigation. I want us to be fair and if it was the use of our air defenses, then I want to see that evidence.”
For its part, the White House has said it sees “nothing to contradict Poland’s assessment” that Tuesday’s missile blast was likely caused by Ukraine – but that Russia is “ultimately responsible” for launching the a barrage against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure.
The Kremlin made a statement today saying that they do not find it necessary to execute Article 4 for the gathering of NATO forces, which could then jeopardize the Article 5 call for a joint response against Russia, which of course would risk World War III.
With his latest stance, Zelensky is defying all recent NATO and US statements by escalating tensions and the possibility of conflict spilling over into Ukraine’s borders.
