The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russia will resume its participation in the Black Sea grain agreement.

Moscow had suspended its involvement in the agreement last weekend, on the pretext that it could not guarantee the safety of civilian ships crossing the Black Sea due to an attack on its fleet.

Today, the Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that it has received written guarantees from Kiev that it will not use the grain corridors in the Black Sea for military operations against Russia.

“The Russian Federation considers that the guarantees received at the moment seem sufficient and resumes the implementation of the agreement”, the statement of the Russian Ministry says.

This confirmation comes after Turkey announced that Moscow has agreed to restore and restart the Black Sea wheat agreement, which was assisted by Turkey and the United Nations.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the agreement will continue” as the parties have agreed. This agreement allows the delivery of millions of tons of Ukrainian wheat via the Black Sea.

We recall that Moscow had accused Kiev of attacking its fleet with drones in the Black Sea, respectively in Crimea – but Ukraine has categorically denied the claims that it was involved in this attack.
