The Sims 4 video game will be free in October

Almost eight years after it came to PC, The Sims 4 will be free.

Starting October 18, publisher EA will not charge to download the base game for Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

Those who paid in full for the original edition or choose to purchase the game before October 17th will receive the upcoming Desert Luxe pack as a gift.

The DLC comes with tons of southwest desert themed furniture.

EA has released 12 expansions for The Sims 4 so far, and those waiting for the game to become free will miss out on a number of features that make it attractive in 2022.

For example, without installing the Cats&Dogs DLC, there will be no cats and dog.

EA claims developer Maxis is more committed than ever to developing a new and meaningful experience for players.

Also, EA and Maxis will be holding a livestream on October 18, when they’ll share details about what the future holds for the popular franchise.
