Footage of Hurricane Ian’s devastation in Florida showed the storm battering homes in Fort Myers on Wednesday with furious winds and steady rain.
A video shows floodwaters engulfing entire homes in an entire area of the stricken city.
Coastal areas of the city of 85,000 were quickly overwhelmed by the historic storm, with some structures completely submerged and others washed away.
A house in the video appears to have collapsed into a pile of rubble. Fort Myers officials imposed a curfew at 6 p.m. Wednesday that will last for at least 48 hours.
Ian brought similar destruction home to Naples, tearing the roofs off some structures and flattening others.
