Spain and Greece have the highest unemployment rates.
Unemployment in the Eurozone remained stable at 6.6 percent during June 2022 compared to the previous month.
According to the European Statistics Office, this level has decreased by 1.3 percent compared to last year’s unemployment rate as people return to work after losing their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The unemployment rate in the European Union was at 6 percent, also stable compared to May 2022.
However, youth unemployment has grown up month-on-month by around 59,000 in the EU and 64,000 in the Eurozone.
Compared to last year, it has decreased by about 527 thousand in the EU and 450 thousand in the Eurozone.
Eurostat estimates that around 12.9 million men and women in the EU are unemployed, of which 2.5 million are under the age of 25.
Unemployment was highest in Spain and Greece at 12.6 percent and 12.3 percent respectively.
The Czech Republic has the lowest unemployment rate in the EU at 2.4 percent.
