The Portuguese saved the sheep from the fire.

Portuguese João Paulo Ruivo (22) just wanted to save sheep from a forest fire in the Portuguese village of Boa Vista near the city of Leiria.

Then he was photographed by a photographer and the photo went around the world and is now “the presenter of what is happening” during the great heat that has engulfed Portugal.

So Ruivo is now famous in the world and is being considered as the “hot summer hero”.

Together with his nephew, he was able to save about 20 sheep and 40 goats from certain suffocation in the fire.

It was not easy, the Portuguese said.

Meanwhile, it is said that the sheep he is carrying on his shoulder in the photo is injured.

For Ruivo, however, his sudden fame is far from pleasant.

“That day I just wanted to help,” he says. “It’s not fair to become famous because of a fire,” he says modestly.

Instead, all first responders should be hailed as heroes — especially the firefighters who have been in those areas for days.
