Windows 10 & 11 can no longer be downloaded in Russia.

Earlier this month, Microsoft announced it was reducing business volume in Russia.

Earlier, the company announced the cessation of sales of its new products in that country, in protest due to Russian military intervention in Ukraine.

Russian news agency TASS reported yesterday that users in Russia are no longer able to download and install Windows 11, from Microsoft’s official website in that country.

According to the report, trying to download Windows 11 or 10 leads to a “404 file not found” or “Directory not found” error, although it states that the download works smoothly when changing location via VPN.

Interestingly, the media creation tool can be downloaded without any problems, after which it still reports error “0x80072F8F-0x20000” and an additional message.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

According to the Ministry of Digital Development from Russia, it is very likely that the use of VPN, to overcome various restrictions and sanctions, will not be punished.
