The Netherlands has more bicycles than residents.

The bicycle, which is part of everyday life in the Netherlands, is used by everyone from the age of 7 to 70 years.

With a population of 17 million, the Netherlands, which makes up 0.2 percent of the world’s population, has 23 million bicycles.

Bicycles, which are mostly used for moving and transporting children to school in the country, are also preferred for fun regardless of weather conditions.

In this context, bicycles are used for work in 22 percent, for going to school in 18 percent and for shopping in 14 percent of cases. In addition, 31 percent use bicycles for fun and 16 percent for other purposes.

In the Netherlands, where cycling is a way of life, approximately 1 million new bicycles are sold each year. Half of them are electric bicycles that provide extra power when you pedal, thanks to the battery in them.
