Ukrainian court orders the arrest of Viktor Yanukovych

Ukrainian court orders the arrest of Viktor Yanukovych.

A Ukrainian court has ordered the arrest of former President Viktor Yanukovych, who is being charged with treason.

From February 2010 to February 2014, Yanukovych served as President of Ukraine, where he later fled to Russia, with which he worked closely even when he was Ukraine’s first.

He had previously been sentenced to 13 years in prison for treason, all because of his closeness and cooperation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who demanded that the Russian army and police bring law and order to Ukraine.

This time he is accused of treason and the agreement he signed in 2010, to expand Russian control over Crimea.

This agreement, known as the Kharkiv Pact, enabled Russia to maintain its Black Sea Fleet in the Crimean port of Sevastopol.

And exactly this fleet was part of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
