The fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces around the Snake Island in the Black Sea continues.
This was announced on Wednesday by the British military intelligence service, which is monitoring the situation in Ukraine particularly closely and publishes a corresponding report every day.
According to the report, Russia had repeatedly tried to reinforce its troops on the island. Ukraine, meanwhile, had successfully attacked Russian air defense and supply ships with drones.
Following the Russian Navy’s withdrawal to Crimea due to the loss of the Moskva, Russia’s supply ships in the western Black Sea have “minimal protection,” the British said.
Russia’s current efforts to bolster its forces on the island would provide Ukraine with more opportunities to attack Russian troops and destroy materiel, they said.
However, should Russian forces consolidate their position on the island, they could dominate the northwestern Black Sea, British military intelligence added.
