I met my friend Zelensky in support of the Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson has stated through social media about the unexpected visit to Ukraine, referring to his Ukrainian counterpart as his friend.

He described Russian military activity in the country as “barbaric”.

“Today I met my friend, the President of Ukraine, Zelensky, in Kiev as a demonstration of our unwavering support for the people of Ukraine,” he said.

“We are defining a new package of financial and military aid, which is a testament to our commitment to his country’s fight against Russia’s barbaric campaign,” he wrote on Twitter.

Zelensky, meanwhile, posted a message on Facebook praising Johnson’s commitment.

“The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson is one of the most vocal opponents of the Russian occupation, a leader who is pushing for sanctions against Russia and for supporting Ukraine’s defense. “Welcome to Kiev my friend.”

Otherwise, the international media report that this is the most sublime visit of any world leader since the Russian aggression in Ukraine.
