Volkswagen introduces the fully electric van ID.Buzz.
Volkswagen unveiled in Paris a production version of its long-awaited ID.Buzz, an electric reincarnation of its Microbus, which will go on sale in a number of European countries in the third quarter of 2022.
The van will also be launched in the United States at the end of 2023, said the German carmaker, adding that it is the first series of prototypes released in the last decade that has successfully reached the production phase.
Manufactured in Hanover with modules mainly supplied by the Volkswagen Group Components in Germany, the vehicle is powered by an 82 kWh lithium-ion battery and can reach a top speed of 90 miles per hour, Volkswagen said.
Other versions with batteries offering different power products will follow next year, the company said.
