Putin has become a “man in a cage he built himself”.
British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said that Russia is now a “weaker country” as a result of the invasion of Ukraine.
“President (Vladimir) Putin is not the force he has been. “He is now a man in a cage he built himself.”
“His army is exhausted, he has suffered considerable losses, the reputation of this great Russian army has been destroyed.”
“Not only must he live with the consequences of what he is doing to Ukraine, but he must also live with the consequences of what he has done to his army.”
Wallace stressed that Russian forces appear to be regrouping and shifting their focus to southern and eastern Ukraine.
“We have seen this before. The situation always gets worse. “Attacks are more on civilians, more on civilian areas.”
