Guy ties himself to the goalpost in a football match.
The match between Everton and Newcastle in the Premier League was abruptly interrupted, after a fan tied himself to the goalposts in “Goodison Park“.
At the beginning of the second half the match was interrupted due to a fan who ran on the field from the stands and managed to get the position he was looking for. He tied himself to the goalpost.
The incident that surprised everyone, had to do with a protest of this guy who was wearing an orange t-shirt written with the words “Just stop oil”.
After a delay of almost seven minutes, the troubled fan was finally released from and escorted off the field by police and stewards.
The rope tied to the throat, had to be cut with bolt cutters.
A Twitter account called “Just Stop Oil” has claimed responsibility for the action.
“Today, a new Just Stop Oil supporter ran to the pitch during Everton’s game against Newcastle to draw attention to the group’s demand that the government end all new fuel supply projects.” in their notice.
The match finally ended 1-0 with the victory of Everton, which is a big step towards survival.
