Ford announced plans to introduce seven new electric vehicles in Europe as part of a $ 2 billion investment.

The news comes after Ford announced it would split its business into two parts: one focusing on traditional gas vehicles called the Ford Blue and the other on the EVs and on software called the Ford Model e.

Ford expects half of its global sales to be electric vehicles by 2030, including all of its vehicles in Europe.

Earlier, the carmaker had said it would spend $ 1 billion to turn a plant in Cologne, Germany, into the continent’s first electric vehicle production line. Now, the company says it expects to produce 1.2 million vehicles over six years, with a total product investment of $ 2 billion.
